The Process:
First, we determine your future goals and a timeline that makes sense for arriving at them. For most people this goal is retirement. If you have your goals pre-defined, that's great! If not, this is our top priority as your goals and intent are the key to putting a good financial plan together.
I always remind my clients that retirement may be your current end goal, but it is its own beginning. Remember, retirement is a 20-30 year long phase of life!
Each of us have our own paths and priorities as we get older: traveling, starting a second career, kicking off a new hobby, spending more time with family, volunteering, moving to the cabin, or a combination of such items. Your priorities could be as simple as “I want to be done working.” Whatever it is, there needs to be a plan in place to get you there. However, installing flexibility into your plan and expectations is just as important as identifying your goals. This is where the careful balance of today and tomorrow comes into play.
None of us are guaranteed tomorrow, but most of us will still be here!
Once we know what you want to do, it's time to identify your balance between future plans and the lifestyle you want to live today. Do you need to sacrifice something today for your tomorrow? Or do you need to adjust your future plans to live the life you want to right now?
This is a cooperative ongoing process with unlimited and continuous support. We work together. To this end, the client and advisor relationship is one of the highlights of the Full Circle Financial experience. Attitude and effort are everything, and while we may not always enjoy the work that it takes to plan, we will help you keep motivated and equip you with the tools to accomplish your financial plan.
Finally, we meet periodically, reviewing your current situation, your future plans, and to tackle the hurdles life throws your way. Continuous support and ongoing planning means we forecast challenges, discuss your options, and adjust your plan as needed to keep you moving towards your goals and the future you want to live in.
